How to Make Vedi Chai

Four simple steps to a perfect cup, the traditional way.

  1. Boil1

    Boil

Bring 1 cup of water to a boil and add 1 heaped teaspoon of Vedi Chai blend.

  2. Simmer2

    Simmer

Let it simmer on low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes, until the spices release their aroma and the water turns a deep amber.

  3. Add Milk3

    Add Milk

Add ½ cup of milk (any milk of your choice) and let it simmer for 2 more minutes until it reaches a rolling boil.

  4. Strain & Serve4

    Strain & Serve

Add jaggery or sugar to taste, strain into your favourite cup, and serve piping hot.

Brewing Tips

  • For a stronger, kadak cup, simmer the tea 1-2 minutes longer before adding milk.
  • Crush the spices lightly with a mortar and pestle before boiling to release more flavour.
  • Always simmer on low-medium heat — a rolling boil for too long can turn the tea bitter.
  • Use fresh, cold water for the first boil; it draws out the flavour better than hot tap water.
  • Store your Vedi Chai in an airtight container away from direct sunlight to preserve freshness.

Prefer It Without Milk?

Vedi Chai works beautifully as a black tea too. Simply boil the water and blend together for 4-5 minutes, strain, and add honey or jaggery to taste. This is the traditional way to enjoy our Tulsi Wellness Chai in the evening.

Serving Suggestions

Best enjoyed hot, alongside a plate of nankhatai biscuits or roasted chana. For a festive touch, garnish with a pinch of dried rose petals or a small piece of cinnamon bark on the saucer.
